Empty-Bowls-A-Thon 1 - time to make bowls!

Want to try out some of those cool techniques discussed at the Jan SAGAG meeting and make bowls for the Empty Bowls fundraiser to support hungry and homeless families in San Antonio? Let's do it!

This is a great way to learn about glass and have some fun while helping and giving back to our community!

This bowl-a-thon will take place at Louise's home in San Antonio near the Quarry area. The address will be provided with registration confirmation.

Can anyone help? Do I need to have experience working with glass? Anyone can help! No experience working with glass is necessary, just a willingness to learn and follow instructions. We'll need volunteers for other Bowl-A-Thons and at the Empty Bowls event on March 1.

Do I need to bring anything? Bring your own safety glasses if you have them. You can also bring other basic glass working tools, if you have them, but there will be a few extras at the bowl-a-thon. SAGAG members are generously donating COE 90 glass (Thanks A&A Products!) for fusing and recycled glass for other techniques (bottle bowls, etc).

Are there more opportunities to make bowls and volunteer? Absolutely - glad you asked! Here's some of the other Empty Bowls related opportunities to make bowls and volunteer.

San Antonio has a young growing guild of glass artists and enthusiasts who come together from a variety of disciplines including warm, cold and hot glass. We meet monthly with the exception of August and December. It's a great opportunity to meet people who have a passion for glass. We talk, learn and enjoy each others' company.
